I am a Finance major with a concentration in Real Estate, with an expected January 2019 graduation.
Coursework within the Real Estate concentration has been immensely rewarding, exposing me to a variety of career paths within the industry and preparing me with skills that have enabled me to engage employers, particularly my internship. Professors Brett Tanzmann and Josh Mann, who co-instructed Real Estate Law, provided a vast understanding of the legal intricacies associated with real property using relevant case work and a number of lectures delivered by extremely accomplished practitioners. In Real Estate Finance taught by Michael Schonberger, I obtained an understanding of mortgages, leases, capitalization rates, valuation and investment profitability measures as well as an introduction to Argus Enterprise software.
I have enjoyed attending the Real Estate Career Seminar hosted by Paul Profeta. Through the Real Estate Center I was connected with Somerset Development where I worked as an Intern this summer with Ken Gold, Vice President of Acquisitions and Development. Ken is a Rutgers MBA alum who earned a concentration in real estate and was also connected to Somerset Development through the Real Estate Center.
